Pink Palms Wedding Planning.

Planning your wedding can be a difficult. Lets be honest, most of us have never done it before, but there are ways to make that process a lot easier. Having a wedding planner allows you to fully enjoy your day and not worry about things you really shouldn't be on one of the most important days of your life!!

I personally, highly recommend Wedding Planners as I love to see a bride and groom looking relaxed through the process and on the day knowing its all sorted!

I have spoken to the founder of Pink Palms Event ( Ashleigh Li) to give you a better ideas on why a wedding planner is so important

Hi Ashleigh, tell us about what do you do and how you would describe your company? "We're an event design studio based in London. We plan & design weddings for contemporary couples, and design events for modern brands."

How long have you been a Wedding Planner for?

"5 years now! I set up Pink Palms whilst I lived in LA, and when relocating back to London I did a lot of networking & realised modern event design was hard to find in the UK. I started focusing on weddings initially (as it seemed like they needed the most help!) and it's just grown from there!"

What do you love most about your job? "The variety - every day and every client is different which I really like. During the pandemic we pivoted to a digital business, running a membership & whilst I loved that it was new, I didn't really enjoy the monotony of certain tasks needing to be done every week... I thrive on change for sure!"

If you could pick a song that represents you, what would it be and why? "Ooh that's a toughie! I love Another Day of Sun from La La Land. I'm not sure this represents me - but Fuse ODG Antenna absolutely never fails to put me in a great mood, no matter what's happening. It's like a little mood hack!"

If you could pick a song that reminds you of weddings, what would it be? "John Legend All of Me - I can't picture that song without thinking of a wedding!"

Where do you find the biggest challenge in your job? "Managing lots of different priorities & expectations - planners are the link between clients & other businesses and both sides are very clear about what their priorities are, navigating that & finding a middle ground can be a challenge. It's nothing I can't do, but don't necessarily love every time I have to crack out the conflict resolution skills!"

What's the top 3 questions you get asked by every couple?

  • "How much is a reasonable amount to spend on each wedding category? - my tip is make a list of your priorities & spend more, cull anything you're not bothered about

  • Why do florists charge so much? because the materials they use are delicate, perishable items. The cost of florals is so high (cheers Brexit) & British grown flowers aren't reliable year round. Trust us, no florist is a secret millionaire!

  • Why do weddings cost more now than when my friends got married 4 years ago? The industry has had to flex A LOT during the pandemic with massive losses - and just like any industry now in huge demand, you'd expect the market rate to go up. Think of it like the property market, the more demand the higher the price - and it's not because we're greedy, we're trying to recover from 18 months worth of losses!"

What advice would you give to a couple choosing their planner? "Have a good think about what is is you need - do you need someone who's just going to get things done or do you need someone who'll guide you & interpret what you want? There's so many options from on the day coordinators, to planners to designers - so zoning in on the help you think you need will really help guide you. Don't be put off by the price tag, it'll be the best investment you make!"

Most memorable moment as a wedding organiser ? "It's every single time they walk down the aisle - I feel all the butterflies I felt at my own wedding all over again!"

What's the best way to reach you online ? "@pinkpalmsevents on IG or www.pinkpalms.co.uk" Top wedding songs to get people on the dancefloor "Ooh it's hard cos you're catering to a really wide age range! But here's my reccy's..."

  • Boy Meets Girl - Waiting for A Start to Fall

  • Bobby Brown - Two Can Play that Game

  • The Real Thing - You to me are Everything
